Origins

Habitat Homies was born from my senior project in design school, inspired by childhood memories of hamster toys that were difficult to clean, quickly became boring, and made it hard to keep an eye on my pet. Determined to create a better solution, I developed the first prototypes during my final year, with Ninja, my energetic and mischievous Syrian hamster, as the initial tester. Ninja quickly became the heart of our testing process and my late-night companion, providing invaluable insights through his playful and unpredictable interactions. His curiosity and energy inspired designs that are engaging, easy to clean, and enhance visibility, fostering a closer connection between pets and their owners. 

After refining our prototypes, I collaborated with pet rescues and ethical breeders to ensure our products met the highest quality and care standards. Recognizing the need for engaging homes for all pets, we expanded our offerings to the broader pet community. By partnering with those who prioritize small animal welfare, we create functional and enjoyable products that align with responsible pet ownership. This commitment drives our mission to develop enriching habitats that enhance the lives of both small pets and their owners.
